• From the In-Stock position all sales orders reduce availability. The remainder being available quantity but, OMS goes beyond.
• The OMS ERP has an “allocation” function that looks at your In-Stock position and reduces the number of inventory items because they have been committed to a Pick-Ticket, this remainder is called the Post-In-Stock position These Pick-Ticketed items are “committed” and are therefore promised to be delivered to customer’s, so your “true” revised In-Stock position has been reduced.
• It is from this “Post-In-Stock” position that the OMS ERP then reduces your “future” deliverable sales orders, the net is “True Available” quantity.
• OMS then adds back to the “True Available” quantity all purchase order quantities and, shows you your projected quantities.
